#SMWLA Preview: How Can Media Companies Find An Online Audience?

From September 23-28, online companies, executives, and personalities will gather in Santa Monica for Social Media Week Los Angeles. To help showcase the incredible events that will be going down this year, Tubefilter will be offering daily previews of individual events. Check out the full schedule here and our schedule at a glance here.

A creator without an audience is subject to the ‘tree falling in the forest’ conundrum. If no one is around to read, watch, or comment, it is demonstrably difficult to make a sound, even with superior creativity and skills.

Many new media companies have recognized the importance of reaching audiences, and at Social Media Week, one of those companies will join three media outlets for a panel titled ‘Finding Your Voice, Finding Your Audience.’ That company is Quora, which serves primarily as a question-and-answer service but also helps brands discover who is reading their content and how they like to read it.

Quora Head of Product Marketing Alex Wu will sit on the panel alongside David Allan of BBC, Mark Hughes of Forbes, and Geri Hirsch of Leaf TV. LA Times tech reporter Andrea Chang will moderate. For creators who feel as if they are casting messages-in-bottles in the ocean, this panel will be a reminder that there are definitive, practical ways to reach your target.

The ‘Finding Your Audience’ live taping will go down on Tuesday, September 24th at 9:30 AM at ROC Santa Monica. If you’re interested, you can sign up right here.
