Annoying Orange Teaching Kids ‘How To Be Annoying’ With Joke Book

The Annoying Orange‘s latest cross-platform effort will teach the series’ typically young fans How to Be Annoying. Dane Boedingheimer‘s purposefully irritating fruit is now the star of his own joke book published by HarperCollins.

Annoying Orange: How to Be Annoying is aimed at kids ages six to ten and will certainly feature the same class of groaners for which the Annoying Orange web series and subsequent TV show are famous. The book is available at all conventional retailers (Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc.) and is the first of six Annoying Orange titles HarperCollins plans to release between now and Easter 2015.

“A breakout hit among the grade school set, Annoying Orange has a huge following among young fans of the web and television shows,” says David Linker

, Executive Editor at HarperCollins. “We look forward to developing this new publishing program for young readers who revel in his cheeky sense of humor and irreverent sensibility.”

Annoying Orange has been one of the most prominent YouTube channels in terms of cross-platform expansions and merchandising deals. In addition to the popular TV program, now in its second season, Daneboe’s prized creation has also been applied to a Christmas album, t-shirts, a holiday special, an iPhone game, and more. This rampant proliferation is partly due to the channel’s partnership with the Collective Digital Studio (which specializes in off-YouTube exploits) and partly due to the fact that kids cannot get enough of The Annoying Orange.

The joke book will continue this appeal to young fans while simultaneously making those kids’ parents crazy as they are inundated with a stream of eyeroll-inducing puns. You could even go ahead and call it…pulp fiction.
