BroadbandTV Now Registers One Billion Network Views Per Month

Top multi-channel network BroadbandTV can now claim a milestone only a few other MCNs have achieved. The Canadian company now scores one billion views a month across its ten thousand-plus content partners.

BroadbandTV’s views come from its two sub-networks, VISO and TGN. Both of these properties are gaming-related; VISO’s roster includes top creators like SethBling, while TGN content includes a Machinima-like main channel featuring premium gaming content from the network’s creators. Combined, VISO and TGN account for 100 million subscribers across more than 10,000 channels.

In addition to VISO and TGN, BroadbandTV also works with brands like NBA, A&E, and Discovery. As with a few other MCNs, it helps these companies easily monetize web content.

The billion-view milestone is the first sign of BroadbandTV’s robust health.  Earlier this year, it secured a $36 million investment round

led by European company RTL Group; since its lucrative windfall, it has worked on improving its unique technologies, including its VISO Catalyst platform.

“With growth comes increased competition and we’re looking forward to showing the market how we are different,” said BroadbandTV founder and CEO Shahrzad Rafati.  “Our proprietary technology platform benefits content creators of all sizes and we have a compelling road map of features that we can’t wait to release to make our content creator community even more successful.”

BroadbandTV, which placed ninth in the latest Comscore rankings, may not get the same exposure as some other MCNs, but its ten digit monthly audience is a bold pronouncement that it belongs in the same breath as the other top competitors in its field.
