Among its other fauna-related follies, The Pet Collective has turned the fuzzy feeling produced by cute baby animals into an on-demand service. Through live streams like the Corgi Cam and Bald Eagle Cam, the multiplatform channel has given viewers 24/7 access to all manner of adorable companions.
For its next cam, The Pet Collective is travelling across the globe to provide its fans with their rarest treat yet. It has set up a stream inside the tiger den at the Australia Zoo in Beerwah that lets viewers live vicariously through the rare Sumatran Tiger.
As with other Pet Collective cams, the launch of the Tiger Cam coincides with the birth of some new babies. In this case, two new cubs have recently joined their mother Kaitlyn at the zoo. Given the time difference, most viewers will observe the cubs sleeping; however, if you’re suffering from insomnia, you could turn the tigers’ daytime activity into a passable sleep aid.
“Kaitlyn will spend the next few weeks making sure her cubs are well fed with the nutrition they need, while the cubs will bond with her before they go on public display,” said Australia Zoo tiger keeper Giles Clark. “This means The Pet Collective is offering the world a very first look, well before most people have ever seen young tigers.”
There are only about 500 Sumatran Tigers in the wild, so it would be hard for Pet Collective to top the rarity of its current cam. I expect it to start engineering cross-species hybrids so that it can provide viewers with a live stream of an animal so rare, it doesn’t even exist yet.
