Music Video Maestro Matthias Wins ‘Internet Icon’ Season 2

The Brothers Riedell have company. Matthias, a musician, effects artist, and sketch comedian who posts an assortment of videos to his YouTube page, has outlasted his fellow finalists to become YOMYOMF‘s second Internet Icon.

Matthias outlasted his two fellow finalists in a fan vote to claim the title, with The Kloons and Bad Weather Films having to settle for runner-up. The entire final episode ran for over 45 minutes and was streamed live via YOMYOMF, where it is now available in its entirety.

It is up for debate what the championship actually means for Matthias. The season one champions, The Brothers Riedell, have built a decent-sized fanbase, through runner-up Lana McKissack has amassed a slightly larger one (McKissack and fellow season one runner-up The Fu

performed during the season two finale.) One of the Brothers’ most visible appearance since their victory has been as the season two hosts. Will Matthias be able to break out beyond YOMYOMF and its associated creators?

His variety will help. By featuring covers, short videos, and sketches, Matthias has a lot of his YouTube bases covered. Thanks to the popularity jump his channel will receive thanks to his victory (his subscriber count has already doubled since the second season began), he should be able to pinpoint what exactly his fans want from him, and in turn become truly iconic.
