OK Go Plays Its Way Across DC In Mobile ‘Tiny Desk’ NPR Concert

Since 2008, NPR has highlighted new and upcoming musical acts with Tiny Desk Concerts, a performance series featuring guests from the radio station’s All Songs Considered program. More than five years after its launch, Tiny Desk is still going strong, and NPR has released its most ambitious performance yet. The most recent episode of Tiny Desk features a moving performance from OK Go, with the alt rockers playing one of their new songs as they move across our nation’s capital.

Some context: NPR recently relocated from its old headquarters to a new one just north of the Capitol. All of the books, furniture, and equipment featured on Tiny Desk had to be transported, and instead of just sending in the movers and calling it a day, NPR decided to turn the move into a concert of its own.

Naturally, the band featured during such an experimental episode was OK Go, who are best known for their wacky and inventive music videos (dating back to 2007’s ‘Here It Goes Again‘, which scored tens of millions of views and helped put the band on the map). To create the video, OK Go played their song ‘All Is Not Lost‘ 223 times, starting in All Songs Considered‘s old home and ending in its new one.

I know I would have trouble playing the guitar while people rush all around me collecting items to get loaded into a truck. Although, I can’t play guitar to begin with, so I think I’d have some bigger problems in this situation.
