10,000 People Expected In Anaheim For Fourth Annual Vidcon

Dozens of YouTube stars will make their way to the Anaheim Convention Center between August 1-3 for the fourth annual rendition of Vidcon, the largest convention dedicated to online video. Alongside those YouTubers will be thousands of their fans; for the first time, Vidcon’s attendance is expected to exceed 10,000 people.

Vidcon’s attendees will include both industry professionals and fans. The former group will attend a series of presentations on August 1st, while the latter one will descend upon Anaheim the next day for a series of performances, meet-and-greets, panels, and parties.

“Even when VidCon was just 1,000 people in a hotel, it was our goal for the conference to reflect the growth and culture of the online video industry,” said Hank Green, creator and co-founder of VidCon, “VidCon’s exponential growth over the last four years is indicative of online video’s impact on the entertainment industry and on our everyday lives.”
