Thanks to her substantial role in the fourth season of Arrested Development, Maria Bamford has been fairly buzzworthy of late. Therefore, there’s no time like the present for the stand-up comedienne to release her new web series, Ask My Mom, which has debuted all across the web.
The series plays off Bamford’s usual shtick, as she plays both herself and her mom, a recurring character in her routine. Each episode has Bamford nervously posing a question, with her mom replaying in an honest, frank, and far-too-candid manner. Thus far, two questions have been answered.
Ask My Mom is available in three different locations. The show is a part of the My Damn Channel comedy network, making it available on both My Damn Channel‘s website and the show’s own YouTube channel. Thanks to the multi-channel network’s agreement with Blip, Ask My Mom is available there as well, continuing Bamford’s habit of exploring interesting distribution platforms.
“Maria Bamford is one of the best comic talents there is,” said My Damn Channel Founder/CEO Rob Barnett. “Maria and her ‘mom’ share wisdom with our advice-seeking fans in a series that unleashes a ton of possibilities to expand into a second season.”
I’m already thinking of which question I want Bamford’s mom to answer. I’m thinking I’ll ask her to clarify the Bible study she alluded to in one of the debut episodes. Specifically, I’m wondering which particular violent and naughty scenes from the Bible are her favorites. I’ve got some guesses as to what she’d say.
