YouTube Next Searches For Vloggers With Inspiring Stories To Tell

One year ago, the YouTube Next team plumbed through the depths of the site in search of 16 video diarists whom it could crown “YouTube Next Vloggers”. After exhausting all other talent search ideas, YouTube Next is returning to this conceit, searching for 16 more vloggers who have particularly inspiring tales to tell.

A blog post introduces the new contest, which, despite being very open to interpretation, has the most specific focus of any YouTube Next competition to date:

“Have you ever had to overcome a seemingly insurmountable obstacle? Was there a goal you reached through hard-work and perseverance? Have you incorporated these inspiring tales of accomplishment into your channel? Starting today through April 18, 2013, applications will be open for 16 inspired and inspiring vloggers to tell us about their struggles and victories – whether they’re big or small, we want you to inspire us!”

Of course, as with all YouTube Next competitions, there are plenty of riches that will be awarded to the winners. Each one will receive workshops via Google+ Hangout and $4,000 worth of equipment, instruction, and other various spoils.

Last year’s crop of selected individuals includes a few names who have greatly increased their online video presences since acquiring some YouTube money. Winning vlogger AmazingPhil is now up to 724,000 subscribers, while his fellow victor BlackNerdComedy recently spoke at SXSW.

If you’ve got an inspiring story to tell, now’s your chance to get noticed. You can enter the competition by signing up right here, but be aware of those pesky guidelines. We hope Tisha Unarmed is paying attention.
