CW Digital Wants To Hear Your Web Series Pitch At SXSW

Austin’s South by Southwest festival begins on March 8, and it could be the place where your web series script finds a buyer. The CW‘s Digital division, which has been busy distributing classic web series and producing a few of its own, will be present at the Interactive Festival, where fledgling creators will have a chance to pitch their ideas to the major network.

CW Digital will occupy a booth that it will cohabitate with Two and a Half Men/Big Bang Theory creator Chuck Lorre and the creators of NBC’s Revolution (who recently launched a few web companions of their own). All of the featured properties are linked through their association with Warner Bros.

SXSW will also be the place where we will get a big time update from Jack Black about the Ghost Ghirls

series he is executive producing for Yahoo. Black will promote the upcoming series by playing a Tenacious D set alongside Val Kilmer. The comedy rock duo also recently teased a potential web presence of its own.

We’ve said for several years how important it is for aspiring creators to make the pilgrimage to SXSW. Now, given the opportunity to pitch ideas to one of the most web-conscious major networks, it truly is a must-attend. Plus, Austin has great barbecue. Game, set, and match.
