A new show featuring some of Maker Studios‘ top creators is shaping up to be Tosh.0, but with more YouTube. Timothy de la Ghetto, Ed Bassmaster, GloZell, and Nathan Barnatt have teamed up for the Viddy-O Show, where they run through the top videos from the Viddy social sharing platform.
The Viddy-O Show features an impressive amount of star power. It’s four hosts combine for more than 3.8 million subscribers, and they evenly split screen time so that each of their fanbases can be satisfied. There’s also some intermingling between the four leads, through this does occasionally feel forced. We’ll have to ask these creators how well they actually know each other when we see them at the Streamy Awards on Sunday. Did we mention the Streamy Awards are on Sunday? The Streamy Awards are on Sunday!
As with Tosh.0, the Viddy-O Show (hosted on the official Viddy channel) runs through a series of clips in rapidfire style, with a handful of themed segments and countdowns. We get to see Ed Bassmaster cry about being single on Valentine’s Day, and our intrepid heroes also present The Official Top 3 Viddy Clips of the Week.
Of course, because this is on the Internet, there’s a prevalent interactive element. Viewers are encouraged to post Viddy clips with a #ViddyOShow hashtag, with the best submission on a particular theme getting featured on the next episode. This week’s theme is “scaring your friend when you wake him/her up“, so start frightening your tired friends THIS MINUTE. It’s worth the resulting passive-aggressiveness.
