Do I really and/or only have to pay $5 to watch this? What’s the future of viewer-supported online video entertainment? What happened to the Radiohead Pay-What-You-Want method of entertainment ownership and consumption? How can I use this direct-to-consumer model to my professional, artistic, and financial benefit? Is ad-supported entertainment on its way to becoming passé? Who won the $1,000 in prizes from Division Camera?
These questions and more will be asked and answered at the Tubefiler Meetup on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. We’ve put together a stellar panel of individuals especially versed in the burgeoning direct-to-consumers models of entertainment, who we fully expect to be intelligent, insightful, and engaging on stage.
Our featured panelists include Ugly Betty star Michael Urie, Please Subscribe director Dan Dobi, and Brian Norgard, CEO and Co-Founder of Meetup sponsor Chill. Tubefilter’s own Drew Baldwin will serve as the moderator. All of the panelists are involved in Chill’s recently launched Chill Direct pay-to-view platform, the latest entrant into the direct-to-consumer online video fray.
Upset because you’re not in Los Angeles to be part of the audience during the event? No problem. We’ll have all the ongoings from on stage streamed for you right here.
Enjoy the conversation, follow the action on Twitter with the hashtag #PayToPlay, and if you dig what we do, you can stay up to speed by subscribing, following us on Twitter, and becoming a fan on Facebook, to hear about more great Tubefilter events in the future.
