Kurt Hugo Schneider Fires Up ‘KHSLive’ Concert, Full-Length Album

Kurt Hugo Schneider, the YouTube star whose various covers and mash-ups have been viewed over 466 million times, recently made our headlines when he teamed up with the Alloy Digital studio. One of Kurt’s first orders of business after becoming a member of Alloy was the production of a one-hour live special, KHSLive!. The concert aired on November 17 on Kurt’s YouTube channel.

“We’ve wanted to do live performing for a while.” explained Schneider. “We have a global fanbase, so I’ve wanted to find a way to perform live for ALL of my fans, no matter where they are. Since my audience lives on YouTube, it seems like the perfect venue to put on such a show and reach all of our audience.” Schneider was joined by three other performers: Megan Nicole, Max Schneider, and Sam Tsui, whose amazing singing ability has made him more popular on the KHS channel than Schneider himself.

The special included musical performances and social media-fueled

Q&A sessions with each musician. “By having thousands of people watch the same video live at the same time,” said Schneider, “and allowing them to interact with each other and the performance itself, we’re taking the high quality of the videos on the channel that we’ve come to be known for and combining it with a social element we’ve never tried before.” Though it has now ended, the entire KHSLive! event is still visible on the KHS channel.

In addition to KHSLive!, Schneider and Tsui recently completed their $30,000 Kickstarter drive to fund a full-length album. After achieving the goal, Schneider had some kind words for his fans:

“When we made the Kickstarter we didn’t know what to expect… we would have been so happy with merely reaching our goal of $30,000. But we have been BLOWN AWAY by the level of support we’ve received thus far… over 700 people have helped us raise over $50,000. To see our fans, who have been watching our videos on YouTube for years, actually help us out with their own money, is incredibly humbling. It really gives new meaning to the phrase, ‘we couldn’t do this without you.'”

Now that KHSLive! is over, Schneider is moving back to recorded videos on his channel. He seems pretty excited about his upcoming ventures, excited enough to employ multiple exclamation points: “We have some really interesting projects in the works that I won’t talk about now,” he said, “but let’s just say I think a lot of people are going to be really excited with what we have coming next!!”
