YouTube SuperGroup ‘YTF Legacy’ Heads to TV

What’s better than one of YouTube’s biggest stars taking the stage in front of a packed crowd? Seven of them teaming up, of course.

Asian American TV channel MNet America has played a Nick Fury role in assembling a septet of talented YouTube avengers: Ryan Higa, KevJumba, Chester See, Victor Kim, D-Trix, Andrew Garcia, and JRA. Now known at YTF Legacy (the YTF stands for Yesterday, Today, Forever), the seven individuals with their powers combined have toured the country since October 2011 as a variety supergroup. And a show featuring the group’s performances will premiere on MNet America’s channel next week on 9/12/12. Here’s a teaser:

The group members with a combined 1.2 billion fans will keep touring this fall (despite losing KevJumba, who’s busy with other work) while the show airs online.

All of the players’ talents are on display here. We’ve got Higa’s sketch comedy talent

that helped make his YouTube channel the second most popular on the world’s largest video sharing site. Garcia, See, and JRA’s musical talents. And Victor Kim and D-Trix’s crazy dance skillz. It’s all wrapped up together and decorated with a kid-friendly bow.

YTF has a certain charm to it that makes the super group super easy to like, a charm that is certainly helped by how great a sense of togetherness the team appears to have. Check out this video of a group cinnamon challenge to see what I mean:

Plenty of smiles and laughs all around as each member takes his turn choking on the nefarious spice. If these guys can be just as likeable on the upcoming show, there’s no doubt they’ll draw a huge crowd and spread their smiles around the globe.
