‘Where the Hell is Matt?’ is Back, Four Years Later

The last time we saw Matt Harding cutting rugs around the globe with his dorky jig that’s somewhere between a sedated Elaine and an amphetamined (but less agile) Carlton was way back in 2008. That was the third worldwide iteration of Where the Hell is Matt?, which came after his Stride-sponsored second video in 2006, which was a sequel to the original 2005 two-minute-44-second installment that features a guy who’s definitely not in Jon M. Chu’s LXG showcasing his moves in front of awesome (in the true sense of the word) backdrops.

More recently, we also saw Harding in a localized version of his video series. In preparation of the 2010 FIFA World Cup he made Where the Hell is Matt in South Africa?. The video shows the world’s master of one if its universal languages doing the Diski Dance in various locations around country.

So, that means it’s been two years since the release of a Where the Hell is Matt? video and four years since the release of one which he traveled around the world to make. That’s too long! The internet and world at large could use a Where the Hell is Matt?

videos because it’s difficult to smile without watching one and who couldn’t use a few minutes of happy in this economy/environment/etc.?

You know what I mean? Harding does. He just released Where the Hell is Matt 2012? today.

What makes this Where the Hell is Matt? video different from all other Where the Hell is Matt? videos is Harding chooses to incorporate a variety of different dance routines after the locals teach him the steps (like the Soulja Boy in New Orleans). He also appears to get a lot more active local participation than in previous installments and he shows off the moves of his offspring.

In less than an hour or two after he uploaded his latest video, the internet already compiled a list of all 71 locations, complete with flags representing every country.
