Tom Hanks’ ‘Electric City’ To Premiere at CES, Debut on Yahoo

Tom Hank‘s highly anticipated post-apocalyptic sci-fi web series Electric City will premiere Tuesday at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Over a year ago Hanks’ production company Playtone inked a deal with Mumbai-based production company Reliance to produce the Wall-E inspired animated drama. Hanks will be voicing the main character.

The 20-episode series will debut in the spring on Yahoo!, which has shifted towards more premium programming, announcing a new studio space in New York, syndicating Hulu and launching

Yahoo! Screen, and releasing a slate of high-quality original reality programming like Morgan Spurlock’s Failure Club and Ultimate Proposal from Vin Di Bona’s Fishbowl Worldwide.

This isn’t Hank’s first foray in to web series; in October 2010 he and producing partner Garry Goetzman launched original web series The Three Minute Talk Show on Lexus’ LStudio, a platform known for attracting big name stars like Lisa Kudrow, Conan O’Brien, and Meryl Streep.
