My Damn Channel Tapped for YouTube Original Channels

Robert Kyncl, Global Head of Content Partnerships at YouTube, just revealed the first wave of original channels as a part of YouTube’s $100 million investment in premium content.

Among the new channels is My Damn Channel: Live, a hosted 30-minute live weekly comedy series with premieres of videos by “big & new talent” as well as daily 10-minute interactive blasts. The channel will be included in the “Pop Culture” vertical.

“This is a moment when the video industry takes a major leap forward,” My Damn Channel Founder and CEO Rob Barnett told

Tubefilter. “YouTube just validated everything My Damn Channel has built since launching in 2007. Our studio creates and distributes killer original content with both established stars and new online talent. Our advertisers have always demanded premium content reaching a mass audience. We’re honored to be in great company with the partners announced by YouTube.”
