Matt Bledsoe and Troy Hitch – web series masterminds with fun-loving senses of humor and face-melting image-altering capabilities – are in town from Covington, Kentucky to spend a super special night with the New York Web TV Meetup and unveil their latest online interactive project, Big Fat University.
This fall, BFU will open up its virtual doors, offering a broad curriculum of educational and entertaining content. Students (viewers and participants), Professors (people like Donnie Hoyle), Classes (shows like You Suck at Photoshop), and Coursework (challenges issued by the profs) will all contribute to a highly engaging, participatory online experience. Troy sums up the premise:
“We really learned a lot from the success of YSAP. People love to learn. People love to laugh. And they love to share unique experiences. With Big Fat University, we’re designing one online destination that provides opportunities to do all three.”
And Matt lends some insight on what students can expect:
“There will also be a Student Center, a constantly evolving community interface that will allow students to interact with Professors, Courses, Coursework, and each other in ways we can imagine, and hopefully in ways we can’t. And it will all be made possible by some very generous donors, benefactors and sponsors.”
Come see Matt and Troy talk about Big Fat University and opine on the awesomeness of You Suck at Photoshop tonight, a the New York Web TV Meetup.
