Iron Sink Lets 'Freakdom' Ring

Comedy network Iron Sink is getting into Inauguration Fever by voting Freakdom of Speech into office today. Created by Groundlings alum and character actor Patrick Bristow, Freakdom is a series of short satirical commentaries starring characters from different walks of life venting about hot topics including the First Amendment.

“Patrick is ridiculously talented,” Iron Sink founder Scott Zakarin said. “He has the respect and admiration of the entire improv community which includes many of his students. Patrick is also a favorite of top L.A. casting directors, playing character roles in movies such as Showgirls and many shows and sitcoms including Seinfeld and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Patrick knew that the zeitgeist of the day was incredibly fertile ground, especially when he has the pool of talented comics to skewer it.”

Iron Sink, which has Model Ball and The Shatner Project to its credit, pacted with Bristow for the series that officially launches today with an Inauguration Day-themed episode and also will include takes on celebrity, plastic surgery and gays in America.

The miniseries of four-minute satires is set for four episodes, and Zakarin is optimistic about the series’ future beyond that. “I’ve been a huge fan of Patrick Bristow for years, having tracked his career in many Groundlings shows as well as TV and film, so when I had the opportunity to get into business with talented producers, I tracked him down immediately,” Zakarin said.

Freakdom’s characters were created by Bristow and the cast includes “some of the most talented comedic performers in L.A.,” according to Zakarin. “The guest stars are the hot American culture topics that are satirized.”

New episodes will air every Tuesday.
