TSA Gangstaz

At the end of January, your friendly Transportation Security Administration launched Evolution of Security. A blog with a deceptively casual tone that belies its government affiliations and will attempt to “facilitate an ongoing dialogue on innovations in security, technology and the checkpoint screening process,” or make it easier for the TSA to “receive complaints for them to ignore in the name of national security,” depending on your point of view.

The same day the blog launched, Scott Beale of Laughing Squid gave Evolution of Security its first major story. While flying out of SFO, the security agents asked him to remove ALL electronic devices from his carry-on bags and put them into X-ray bins. That included a laptop, three cameras, cables, and a flash card reader. Scott, of course, blogged about the pain in the ass experience. A week later, the TSA

regressed its policy to the former status quo, in large part due to the bad buzz started by Scott’s initial post.

That, and the fact that hating on the TSA is always timely, is my long-winded attempt to establish some semblance of context for Zach Selwyn’s sweet video below. Under the banner of WindowPaneFilms, the country-rock singing, G4TV correspondent parodies the ridiculous practices of TSA Gangstaz after having an unpleasant experience with agents himself (NSFW due to language and just a couple instances of poor taste):
