MyDamnChannel has proven its worth. The new media entertainment studio that I once criticized for being a “catch-all comedy warehouse” indistinguishable from Funny or Die has focused its efforts on the production of original series. The brand still lacks a clear mandate, with content ranging from conversations with New Orleanenians afflicted by hurricane Katrina to Any Milonakis going freestyle, but the sheer quantity of its output, and the quality of much of it, says a lot about their (presumably evolving) process.
I’m particularly impressed by a comedy series released by MyDamnChannel today, Itty Bitty Liddy, in which conservative pundit and convicted felon G. Gordon Liddy becomes a 6-inch tall covert operative in a 1950’s film noir parody featuring Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich.
Political satire is a welcome development in a space overcrowded with sophomoric sensibilities.
