Reports of Amanda Congdon’s departure from her show on ABC News (Tilzy.TV page) were slightly exaggerated. The former anchor for news vlog Rocketboom (Tilzy.TV page) and star of her own eco-friendly, interview-driven road trip Amanda Across America (Tilzy.TV page) was one of the first independent internet stars to get picked up by a mainstream media company. She’s now vacating her weekly spot at her ABC news desk, but not immediately. ###
“I’ve decided not to continue at ABC once our year together is up (and it ain’t up yet) in favor of a new, innovative project that will take every ounce of my time and energy,” Congdon
explains on her blog. So, whether you’re a fan of the “Rocketboom with an ABC logo” or thought that Congdon jumped the shark with her “cool” and “weird” style of newscasting, you’ll be able to catch her online at ABC until December.
Congdon didn’t release any compelling info about said innovative project, other than she’s “giddy” for what’s ahead. Let’s just hope it has nothing to do with DuPont. Or Kate. Please, not Kate.
