Despite their recent popularity and abundance, cooking shows offer very little variance. And, frankly, I think most are boring.
Enter Average Betty (Tilzy.TV Page). Is this even a cooking show? She does teach us a new recipe with each installment, but cooking is just a backdrop for this zany humor and wacky wit. Sure, I leave with a recipe, but I get much more in the process. The greatest promise of internet-TV is the
opportunity for experimentation. Nobody pushes the cooking segment farther than Average Bettty whose highly-stylized approach appeals even to the guy who never cooks. Check out this episode featuring The Cuckoonut Shrimp Fairy. And another thing: Betty wears a coconut better than most. That never hurts.
