Is it a coincidence that Joost released its final beta version during Videoblogging Week 2007? Probably not. Nonetheless, it’s an exciting new venture for fans of online television.
For those of you who don’t know, Videoblogging Week is We Are The Media‘s attempt to aggregate as many vloggers as they can invigorate into posting daily videos. It makes for a lot of site traffic and video visibility, making it the perfect time to release the new Joost.
And for those of you who don’t know about
Joost, you should. It’s the perfect thing to have running in the background of your office computer. With an international and on-demand roster of television networks, entertainment conglomerate feeds, event programming, and classic television shows (I’m counting Ren and Stimpy as a classic and I don’t care if you disagree), it’s the closest thing to internet television that’s on the market. It’s free and the new version can be downloaded for Mac and PC.
