Next week, at VidSummit 2026, Jordan Matter will do something no one else has done before.
He will spend an entire day sitting in a room, door open, and answering every question fellow creators throw his way.
Matter, whose channel has 38 million subscribers and drives more than 400 million views per month with content about his daughter Salish, has been in the YouTube space for 15 years. That’s 15 years of knowhow that can help people earlier in their journeys.

Matter says he was inspired by his own first trips to VidSummit, where he got the chance to talk shop with creators like MrBeast and Airrack.
“They took the time to talk to me about my content and answer a couple of questions. I thought that was a great opportunity for me to be able to learn from them,” he explains.
At subsequent VidSummits, after his channel had gotten bigger, he found himself in a new position: he was being approached for advice. “A lot of people were asking me questions, so I just decided why not do an all-day event from first thing in the morning until everybody is gone, where I’m available to anybody to ask questions at any time,” he says.
Matter has spoken onstage at VidSummit in past years, but says he feels he can contribute more outside the bounds of a 20-minute talk with a few moments for audience questions.
As such, he’ll post up in the fourth-floor lobby of the Irving Convention Center on Sept. 30, VidSummit’s second day.
He hopes people will duck in between the event’s dozens of panels and workshops, and says he’ll be thrilled if there’s a sizable line that keeps him there for hours. (We’re not surprised to hear this: his and Salish’s bevy of 24-hour challenges have certainly trained him for marathons.)
“I think this is just what the spirit of VidSummit is,” Matter says. “Creators who have been doing it for longer meet up with younger creators and share their knowledge. I just wanted to make it official.”
He says he feels especially ready to offer advice after recent major developments with his and Salish’s YouTube presence, including Salish winning Favorite Female Creator at the 2025 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, the shutout launch of her Sephora-carried skincare brand Sincerely Yours, and of course their content development deal with Netflix.
“A lot of this stuff, transitioning to Netflix, launching a product, having a live event, building relationships with the audience to reach all that, this is what younger creators who will be at VidSummit aspire to do,” Matter says. “There are specific strategies we’ve used to get there. It hasn’t been all luck. It’s been a lot of hard work and a lot of understanding YouTube, understanding the algorithm, and understanding branding and connection, storytelling, all of that.”
Matter says he also hopes other top creators will follow his lead and adopt this format for themselves at future VidSummits.
“I know there are a lot of creators who like to give back,” he says. “I’m just trying to set a tone that says, hey, if you’re a creator who’s been in the space for a while and you have knowledge, don’t just stay in the hotel and hang out with your friends and give your talk. Take time to really talk to younger creators and motivate them and inspire them and share your knowledge with them.”
