As World Cup fever subsides on YouTube, viewership is down overall in the Global Top 50. The #1 channel on YouTube during the last full week of July was MrBeast, who hauled in 870.5 million weekly views. It was also his wedding week, so I’d say it was a pretty good time overall for Jimmy Donaldson.

All of the channels in the Global Top 50 got at least 365 million views during the week that was. The last of those 50 chart entrants is a relatively new channel, but its hosts have some of the strongest pedigrees on the family-friendly side of YouTube.
Australia’s favorite couple has a new pair of friends
If you’re a regular around these parts, then you’re likely familiar with Jasmin and James. The channel hosted by lovebirds Jasmin Arndt and James Ewens often ranks among the five most-watched YouTube channels in the world.
For years, Arndt (who hails from Germany) and Ewens (from Australia) have sought ways to expand their YouTube empire. Through a collaboration with fellow couple Cadel and Mia, Jasmin and James turned the Double Date channel into one of YouTube’s preeminent hubs.
Ultimately, both of those couples have enjoyed continued success on YouTube. In this week’s Global Top 50, Cadel and Mia ranked sixth, while Jasmin and James took the #12 spot.
The latter couple, however, has the lead when it comes to subscribers. Jasmin and James recently celebrated 40 million subscribers on their main channel, making it — according to the hosts — Australia’s most-subscribed family channel. (The channel flies the German flag in our charts, though Jasmin and James are based Down Under.)
As well as Jasmin and James are doing, the Double Date channel isn’t active anymore. That ending gives them the opportunity for a new beginning, which brings us to the Double Trouble Squad.
That’s the name of a channel Jasmin and James have launched alongside the U.S.-based duo Rylen and Chloe. While it’s only a couple months old, Double Trouble has already surpassed many other family channels on YouTube.
Through an assortment of challenges, skills, and pranks, the collaborating couples collected 365.3 million weekly views during the last week of July. That was good enough to claim the 50th and final place in the Global Top 50.
Data via Gospel StatsDouble Trouble may have fallen a bit from the heights it reached during its earliest week, but the channel is still generating a lot of hype. The creators behind it have figured out the video types that perform the best on YouTube Shorts, and they are cranking out those videos as quickly as possible.
At this rate, it won’t be long before Jasmin and James dominate the entire Top 50. They’re already in it three times: With their main channel, Double Trouble, and Jasmin’s personal hub. The other two-headed channels should take some tips from these antipodean partners, because whatever they do on YouTube has a tendency to turn to gold.
