MrBeast paired his #1 finish in the Global Top 50 with an equally impressive performance in our subscriber ranking. North Carolina’s native son added three million new subs on his main channel during the third full week of May. MrBeast is fast approaching unprecedented territory; he should only need until the end of June to become the first YouTuber with at least 500 million subs.

No one will be able to catch MrBeast before he reaches that mark, but a major event kicking off in June will certainly reshape our charts. Are you ready for some (association) football?
In Brazil, all eyes are on CazéTV
Last week, our Global Sub Top 50 write-up focused on the World Cup by highlighting the chart impact of the most famous soccer players in the world. Now that we’ve covered the athletes who will take the pitch across North America in a few weeks time, let’s turn our attention to the fans.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will feature more access for soccer superfans than any previous edition of the quadrennial tourney. TikTok’s Creator Correspondents program is the perfect example of that shift: The app is sponsoring dozens of creators as they cover the 48-team tilt from every angle imaginable.
In Brazil, CazéTV has received an even rarer opportunity. The fan channel is known for its devotion to the game Brazilians call “la joga bonita,” and national authorities rewarded Cazé’s namesake star by making him an official broadcaster for the 2026 World Cup.
Even though the Cup matches won’t begin until June 11, Brazilian soccer fans are already flocking to the CazéTV channel. It added 600,000 new subscribers during the third full week of May. That was good enough for it to finish ninth in our latest Global Sub Top 50.
CazéTV’s numbers will continue to grow as the opening kickoff draws nearer. Last week, I postulated a “what if” scenario involving a hypothetical clash between Ronaldo and Messi. Now, I have another “what if” for you: What happens to CazéTV if Brazil wins the World Cup?
It’s no exaggeration to claim that CazéTV could break into the top five if the Seleção hoist the trophy. After all, winning is good for business. In YouTube’s competitive soccer landscape, celebrating a victory can provide a boost that elevates a related channel above the pack.
We just saw that happen with Inter. The top Milanese club just won the Italian league title, which is commonly known as the “Scudetto.” In the wake of their Scudetto-clinching win earlier in May, the nerazzurri have become the hottest soccer club on YouTube. The official Inter channel added 370,000 new subscribers during our most recent measurement period, and views are way up, too.
And to think: That’s just the boost a club gets for winning a domestic league trophy. The national team that ultimately wins the 2026 World Cup is going to be even more ballyhooed, and the YouTube numbers will probably shift as a result.
Brazil has already given itself a leg up on YouTube by adopting its innovative CazéTV-centric strategy. Now it’s time for the players to do their part so that the fans can claim the benefits on YouTube and beyond.
