For the second week in a row, MrBeast captured the #1 spot in our Global Top 50 ranking. The owner of YouTube’s most-subscribed channel is finishing May on a high note. Over seven days, he outpaced all other YouTube channels by more than 500 million views, collecting 1.64 billion weekly views in all. That sum brought his all-time view count above 124 billion — and that’s just on the main MrBeast channel.

Elsewhere in the ranking, Indian channels continue to dominate. It’s a pop culture product born in South Korea, however, that is exerting the greatest influence on a prominent category of short-form creators.
Is the good vs. evil couple routine the secret to KPop Demon Hunters‘ success?
Nearly a year after its initial premiere date, KPop Demon Hunters is still driving billions of views per week on YouTube Shorts. Top channels like Funny Brothers (#7 in this week’s Global Top 50) are donning Demon Hunters-inspired costumes to reach the youngsters all across the world who have been captivated by HUNTR/X and their music.
Depending on which Shorts channels you go to, you’ll see different aspects of KPop Demon Hunters‘ aesthetic on display. Some creators pull off Rumi cosplays while others cover the film’s catchy songs. For couple channels, however, one particular aspect of the film shines through: the relationship between Rumi and Jinu.
In the film, Rumi and Jinu are demons (spoiler alert) with opposing personalities. Rumi is a good girl with a dark secret, while Jinu is a bad boy with a softie streak. They ultimately unite (spoiler alert) to teach viewers that no one deserves to be ostracized based on the things that make them different.
Romantic duos on YouTube Shorts have mined that plot point for content. TripleY222 & Tarran D sounds like something a quarterback would yell before snapping the ball, but it’s actually the home of a couple that draws inspiration from Demon Hunters‘ rival groups. TripleY’s pure white outfits provide a juxtaposition when paired with Tarran D’s all-black looks.
Sure, this pairing is more Zoey and Mystery than Rumi and Jinu, but does it even matter? When creators lay out the themes of KPop Demon Hunters in the most unsubtle ways possible, millions of viewers tag along. TripleY222 & Tarran D got 447.9 million weekly views during our latest seven-day count. That was good enough to reach 27th place in the Global Top 50.
Even the biggest couple channels on YouTube are catching onto the “light vs. dark” aesthetic that drives so much activity in the KPop Demon Hunters fandom. Jasmin and James are #3 in this week’s Global Top 50 with more than one billion weekly views, and their secondary channel cracked the chart as well.
More Jasmin and James is in 42nd place in the Global Top 50 thanks to its 388.2 million weekly views. The secondary hub hasn’t existed in its current form for very long, but it’s already filled with black-and-white outfit pairs that comment on morality. Except in this case, the girl is the “bad” one, and by that I mean “Michael Jackson bad.”
Will KPop Demon Hunters ever reach the end of its shelf life? Or will it continue to drive YouTube Shorts trends through the end of 2026 and beyond?
In a sense, the contrasting outfits seen in these Shorts show why KDH is a good bet to continue inspiring creators. The film is as unsubtle as it is popular, and among YouTube’s top channels, being as over-the-top as possible is a good way to attract as many eyeballs as possible.
