Offbrand‘s expansion into the video game market is going swimmingly.
The media company launched by streamer Ludwig Ahgren and his business partners recently celebrated the launch of Rivals of Aether 2, the first title published by the fledgling Offbrand Games unit. A few days later, more good news arrived: Rivals of Aether 2 hit the top of the Steam charts after outselling notable games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Factorio, and Counter Strike 2.
Nick Allen, who is the CEO of Offbrand and President of Ahgren’s Mogul Moves brand, shared Rivals of Aether 2‘s smashing sales success on his LinkedIn page. “Huge thank you to the Aether Studios team for trusting us with their incredible title,” Allen wrote. “Hope you all have a chance to check it out!”

Aether Studios deserves some credit for its new game’s strong performance, but Rivals of Aether 2 has already outsold its predecessor. So what makes this platformer fighting game sequel so special? Its star-studded publisher might have something to do with it.
Ahgren, Allen, Nathan Stanz, and Brandon Ewing first launched Offbrand in 2022 as a live production firm catered to streamer events. After seeing some success with to-dos like The Streamer Awards, Offbrand launched its game publishing division in 2024 and brought in a big-name streamer to lead it. Jason “Thor” Hall, who broadcasts under the Pirate Software moniker on Twitch, is the Director of Strategy at Offbrand Games.
Hall is known for attracting big crowds, so his support of Rivals of Aether 2 — as well as Ahgren’s — likely boosted the game on Steam. Evidence of an “Offbrand bump” could be a huge selling point for the publisher as it looks to recruit more developer partners.
In the meantime, fighting game fans can try out Rivals of Aether 2 for themselves. The game is 10% off until November 6 and can be purchased via its official Steam page.
