Colin and Samir are heading to Hollywood, and they want their creator friends to join them. The podcast co-hosts known for their insights into the creator economy have announced Press Publish LA, a West Coast iteration of their nascent event series.
Through their Colin and Samir Show podcast, their joint YouTube channel, and their newsletter The Publish Press, longtime collaborators Colin Rosenblum and Samir Chaudry have dispensed valuable advice for all types of creators. They’ve also become fixtures at some of the most notable events on the creator calendar, including VidSummit, the Streamy Awards, and the Spotter Summit.
Last year, Colin and Samir tried something a little different: Instead of speaking at an event produced by someone else, they hosted one of their own. Press Publish NYC, which hit Brooklyn last September, connected recognizable creators to hungry up-and-comers. Cleo Abram, Max Joseph, Casey Neistat, and Steven Bartlett were four of the notables who spoke to an audience that included more than 400 total attendees.

Inspired by the success of Press Publish NYC, Colin and Samir are now moving their event series to what they call “our own turf.” That’s how the Publish Press newsletter described the upcoming event, which will gather West Coasters on May 28 for a combination of panels, mixers, discussions, and podcast recordings
“Most of the time we spend online falls into three buckets: regrettable minutes, forgettable minutes, and memorable minutes,” Chaudry said. “A lot of the internet is the first two. We started thinking about how to create more of the third and we realized the best way to do that was to bring people together in real life.”
There are plenty of factors other than convenience that inform Colin and Samir’s decision to bring Press Publish to LA. The event will be a deep dive into the evolving relationship between creators and Hollywood studios. As YouTube standouts like Markiplier and Kane Parsons break into cinemas, Colin and Samir are ready to discuss what creators can do to keep the trend rolling.
Press Publish LA’s distinct focus on the creator economy will help distinguish it from that other, more fan-focused creator event that takes place in Southern California each summer. Colin and Samir haven’t yet announced the speaker lineup or venue for their upcoming conference, but if you’re interested in attending, you can apply for access by visiting the Press Publish LA website.
