Creators like Marques Brownlee will vie for a $100,000 prize in Good Good’s golf tournament

A creator golf tournament will tee off in Indiana on June 18. On that date, an eclectic group of professional athletes, creators, and golf YouTubers will come together for the Good Good Golf Midwest Open.

The Midwest Open is being put on by the titular golf creators of Good Good, a links-set YouTube channel that reaches more than 1.5 million subscribers. After attracting a 50-player field for the Desert Open earlier this year, Good Good is planning a gathering at French Lick Golf, a course the Good Good guys have described as their favorite in the United States.

According to Dexerto, the Desert Open drew a live audience of more than 100,000 peak concurrent viewers. For their jaunt to the Midwest, Good Good is looking to draw another six-digit crowd by recruiting some celebrity contestants. Tech reviewer Marques Brownlee has already been confirmed for the tournament, as has Los Angeles Lakers sharpshooter Austin Reaves. They’ll be joined by some big names in the YouTube golf community, including Good Good’s own Garrett Clark and instructor Paige Spiranac.

The Good Good Golf Midwest Open will utilize a “two-person scramble” format that will pair professionals with non-golfer partners. The winning pair will share a $100,000 grand prize.

Good Good fans who are willing to make the trek to rural Indiana can snag spectator tickets for the Midwest Open. The tournament’s Eventbrite page indicates that ticket prices begin at $20. Attendees can expect food trucks, merch, and live music.

Though the Midwest Open is not quite a PGA-sanctioned event, its participants have received plenty of face time within the golf world. Four Good Good members — Clark, Stephen Castaneda, Brad Dalke, and Matt Scharff — played 18 holes with PGA pro Min Woo Lee earlier this year. A few months later, YouTube’s biggest golf hotshots competed in The Q, a tournament that served as a qualifier for a PGA entry. Matt Atkins, a regular on the Bryan Bros Golf channel, emerged victorious at that event.
