Mark Rober’s Crunchlabs brings STEM to kids. A new “Hack Pack” does the same for adults.

Mark Rober is teaching his fans about “all the tools and tricks” that inform his YouTube videos. The engineer and creator, whose prankish spirit and eccentric creations have brought nearly 50 million subscribers to his channel, has expanded his Crunchlabs brand with an adult-oriented product called the Hack Pack.

Rober launched Crunchlabs to share his love of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) with his youngest fans. The brand initially launched as a subscription box that regularly delivers age-appropriate science experiments to kids’ doors.

The latest expansion of the brand is targeting a more grown-up audience. In a video on the Crunchlabs YouTube channel, Rober explained that the Hack Pack will be perfect for “teenagers and adults” who want to devise contraptions that resemble the ones seen in the engineer’s videos.

The Hack Pack is designed to be easy to use, even for buyers with minimal engineering experience. Rober explained that programming the “brain” that powers the pack’s creations is as simple as assembling a Lego set. More experienced coders can connect the builds to their devices and add in bonus features, such as password protection or built-in minigames.

“The same formula that has worked on CrunchLabs’ BuildBox to get kids stoked on science while having tons of fun learning all about building and engineering is now being unleashed on their parents and older siblings,” Rober said in a statement. “Even if you’ve never coded or built anything before, our goal is to take you from wherever you’re currently at and level you up by making learning incredibly fun. That’s the real magic of Hack Pack.”

Like with Rober’s other products, the engineer can provide free marketing for his Hack Pack. Crunchlabs-sponsored videos — typically originating on Rober’s channel — have topped our Weekly Brand Report on several occasions. Rober typically uploads a new long-form video every month.

More details about the Hack Pack are available on the Crunchlabs website. A one-year Hack Pack subscription costs $399.95. Boxes are shipped on a bi-monthly basis and the first one is included for free. That means the other five average out to about $79.99 per box. Imagine how much more math I’ll be able to do once I get my hands on some Rober-approved instructions.
