Airrack will go for a Guinness World Record on New Year’s Eve, one slice at a time

As 2023 turns into 2024, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin Eve will host a special guest — and, hopefully, a record-setting performance. The New Year’s Eve bash led by Ryan Seacrest will feature an appearance from Airrack, who will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record by eating at an unprecedented number of fast food joints over a 24-hour period.

Airrack, whose real name is Eric Decker, has amassed a YouTube following of 14.7 million subscribers by taking on extreme challenges and completing grand projects. His guest spot on New Year’s Rockin’ Eve will add another impressive feat to his portfolio. He will attempt to set the record for the most fast-food restaurants visited in one day, and he is adding an extra layer of difficulty as well, as he plans to only visit pizza joints.

A pizza-themed record is on-brand for Airrack. He earned his first enshrinement in the Guinness World Records when he teamed up with Pizza Hut to create the world’s largest pizza. The tale of the 132-foot pie hit YouTube earlier this year and has since picked up more than 21 million views.

If Airrack needs to add in a few non-pizza fast food visits at the eleventh hour, he’ll be in the right place to do it. His world record attempt will conclude during New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, the annual celebration put on by Dick Clark Productions. The 66-year-old production company also co-produces the Streamy Awards with Tubefilter. Airrack hosted that show in 2022.

Airrack will join a long list of performers who will join the New Year’s Rockin’ Eve broadcast on ABC. Musical artists like Green Day, Janelle Monaé, and Doechii will help Seacrest and co. count down the hours until January 1, 2024. The 52nd edition of Dick Clark Productions’ New Year’s soiree will kick off at 8 PM ET on December 31.
