Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger. Hey, is that Kai Cenat sitting over there?

Kai Cenat is furthering his big-screen dreams with a role in a nostalgic sequel. The streaming star will make an appearance in Good Burger 2, an upcoming film led by Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell.

The original Good Burger film, released in 1997, evolved out of a bit from Nickelodeon’s prime-time sketch show All That. Thompson and Mitchell were two of All That‘s breakout stars, and they created an iconic setting by depicting their adventures at a run-down burger joint. Good Burger‘s (widely-panned) trip to the big screen featured cameos from 90s icons like Sinbad and Shaquille O’Neal.

Though the Good Burger movie drew negative reviews from critics, it endured as a cultural touchstone of the Millennial generation. More than 25 years after its theatrical release, Good Burger is getting a sequel. Good Burger 2 will arrive on the Paramount Plus streaming service on November 22.

Like the first film, Thompson and Mitchell’s sequel will feature a stacked cast. All That members Josh Server and Lori Beth Denberg will have roles in the film, and celebs like Mark Cuban and Rob Gronkowski will have cameos. Additional small roles will go to digital content creators: Flula Borg will add to his filmography, Liza Koshy will continue her collaboration with Nickelodeon, and Cenat will show up as a patron in the titular restaurant.

The record-breaking Twitch star can be seen briefly in the official Good Burger 2

trailer, which hit the Paramount Plus YouTube channel. It seems as if the sequel will reuse several plot points from the preceding film, with Thompson and Mitchell fending off a hostile takeover from a corporate burger joint.

Cenat reacted to the trailer on Twitch and explained the process that led to his casting in the film. “You wanna know what’s so crazy? Chat, if you remember, there’s a clip on Twitch of people saying Kai would be good in Good Burger,” Cenat said. “A girl called me [right after] and asked if I wanted to be in Good Burger 2.”

For the 21-year-old Bronx native, a bit part in a feature film is an important stepping stone. Cenat has been clear about his plan to parlay his streaming fame into a career in movies. He showed off his acting chops by starring in Global Pursuit, a short film he released on his YouTube channel.

Even if Cenat’s Good Burger 2 appearance ends up as nothing more than a brief cameo, his casting represents a growing trend in the film world. Production companies are realizing that creator cameos can help put butts in the seats — and that’s good news for streaming stars with Hollywood ambitions.
