Changes are coming to Famous Birthdays. The digital database, which can be described as “Wikipedia for Gen Z,” has revealed a new look and a new talent representation portal.
The new-look Famous Birthdays puts big-name influencers front and center while keeping tomorrow’s celebrity birthdays and today’s trending creators on the front page. For its first redesign in six years, Famous Birthdays turned to Amsterdam-based design firm Your Majesty, which has also worked with Spotify, AirBNB, and Samsung.
“With our redesign now live, we continue to march towards our goal to make Famous Birthdays the most user-friendly website on the internet”, said Famous Birthdays Founder Evan Britton. “We enhanced our trivia games, video platform, and trending information; all while making our website faster and easier to use.”
Famous Birthdays’ refresh also comes with some new features. The database is introducing a talent portal that will allow users to research the representation of traditional celebrities and digital creators. The talent portal includes traditional agencies and management firms, such as WME and UTA, as well as new media companies that work with the rising influencer class. The above image, for example, shows a few of the creators who are affiliated with the digital content studio Amp
.In order to stay up to date in the hectic world of talent representation, Famous Birthdays will employ many of the same tactics it has used to amass a leading database of youth culture icons. The company often works with managers and other reps to secure headshots for its creator listings. Those conversations have allowed Famous Birthdays to obtain current rosters for the talent representation firms in its database.
The talent representation portal will be exclusive to users who sign up for Famous Birthdays Pro. The premium option was first revealed two years ago and has since become Famous Birthdays’ answer to services like IMDbPro.
In total, the Famous Birthdays database now includes more than 260,000 celebrities and creators. At launch, the talent representation portal lists over 3,600 firms, which collectively rep more than 40,000 creators.
