Cocomelon gets its kicks with Puma partnership

Get ready to see a lot of toddlers rocking colorful Cocomelon kicks. The family brand’s owner, Moonbug Entertainment, is teaming up with Puma to sell shoes inspired by Cocomelon and its characters.

The Cocomelon footwear line will include five designs. The shoes, which come in colors like white, pink, and blue, are as bright as a typical Cocomelon video. Some of the designs also allude to recurring characters like JJ, Nina, and Cody, who have become beloved figures for Cocomelon viewers and their parents.

The Puma partnership doesn’t stop at shoes: Moonbug is also bringing branded onesies and two-piece sets to stores. Those items will available in both toddler and preschooler sizes.

Beginning on March 31, Cocomelon-loving kids can snag the new goods at Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker, and select Puma stores. The items in the apparel line range in price from $28 to $85.

By dropping a new set of consumer products just before the start of summer vacation, Moonbug is expanding Cocomelon’s already-sizable presence in the retail world. The hundreds of millions of viewers who watch Cocomelon videos across platforms like YouTube and Netflix can bring the brand home by picking up a themed Squishmallow or a virtual shoutout from one of the channel’s animated stars.

“We’re excited to bring this new collection to Cocomelon fans, who can now enjoy awesome designs that feature their favorite characters,” said Joan Grasso, Head of Consumer Products Americas at Moonbug, in a statement. “By combining PUMA’s excellence in sport and fashion with our popular and fun characters, we aim to further extend the joy of CoComelon beyond the screen to family adventures. We can’t wait to see little ones wearing this collection!”

Cocomelon’s commercial push was preceded by a big change to the channel’s corporate structure. Ambitious holding company Candle Media acquired Moonbug for $3 billion in 2021. Since then, Candle has spurred Moonbug’s growth through a wide range of cross-platform initiatives.
