Snapchat has unveiled four new messaging features that it says seek to make chatting with friends “more fun and expressive” – all of which are rolling out on Android and iOS in coming days.
First are emoji-powered poll stickers, which can be added to both Snaps and Stories to survey friends on their thoughts about a particular question. The option lives in the Sticker folder. Per Snapchat, a user might ask a friend, ‘What would you rather live without?’ Participants can then select the music note emoji or the mobile phone emoji to tender their votes.
At the same time, Snapchat is rolling out Bitmoji Reactions
, whereby users can choose from one of seven personalized Bitmojis to respond to any message. Finally, the platform is rolling out a Chat Reply feature, enabling users in a group chat to respond to individual messages by holding down on a message to start a thread. And Snapchat says it has “reimagined” its video and audio interface, making it easier to add Lenses and implementing the ability to preview who’s in a group call before joining.
