Pocket.watch Builds On Its Multi-Million Dollar Onyx Family Portfolio

Kids’ content giant Pocket.watch is expanding its Onyx Family property with the launch of the second season of its flagship animated series, Onyx Monster Mysteries, exclusively on Amazon today.

The show is now live on Amazon Kids+, and will roll out widely to Pocket.watch’s full roster of streaming platform partners in December.

The Onyx Family works with Pocket.watch on a multi-million dollar portfolio that includes original content, books, games, music, apparel, and more. Season one of Onyx Monster Mysteries is available on dozens of streaming services, including Peacock, Tubi, Roku, and YouTube.

The cartoon is the creation of Pocket.watch chief content officer Albie Hecht, and sees the YouTube-famous family transformed into musically-inclined characters in a bid to save misunderstood and endangered monsters.

Other ancillary ventures related to the series include a soundtrack featuring songs written and performed by the Onyx Family, with music videos set to drop on their YouTube channel in the lead-up to Halloween. Pocket.watch also has four Monster Mysteries mini-games that are available on the Pocket.watch app, while Amazon will carry a new collection of Monster Mysteries-themed merch, including T-shirts, sweatshirts, PopSockets, phone cases, and tote bags.

All told, the Onyx Family — comprising parents Mirthell and Rita, and their four children Shalom, Sinead, Sade (Shasha), and Shiloh — counts 7 million social media followers and more than 3 billion lifetime views on their YouTube channel alone. Pocket.watch signed the family in 2019.
