Archewell Productions, the entertainment studio founded last year by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, has hired former Disney+ exec Chanel Pysnik as its head of unscripted content.
Pysnik will oversee docuseries and documentary features, Deadline reports, working in close tandem with Netflix, where Archewell operates a development deal. (Archewell Audio, its podcast division, similarly has an exclusive agreement in place with Spotify). Pysnik will report to Archewell’s head of content, Ben Browning, and joins another recent hire, Bennett Levine, who was named production coordinator in April.
In addition to its entertainment endeavors, Archewell Inc. also comprises a nonprofit foundation.
Archewell’s first two projects at Netflix are the docuseries Heart Of Invictus — about the international sporting event for wounded, injured, or sick servicemen and women — and Pearl, an animated series executive produced by Markle about a 12-year-old girl who finds inspiration in influential women throughout history.
Prior to joining Archewell, Pysnik served as director of international content for Disney+, overseeing unscripted series and docs in all non-U.S. markets. Prior to that she led development for original series at CNN and HLN.
