Moonbug Taps Licensing Partner To Bring CoComelon, Blippi Products To Brazil

Moonbug has today appointed Redibra as its licensing agent in Brazil, as the digital kids’ content conglomerate seeks to develop consumer products for top properties like CoComelon and Blippi.

A licensing agent identifies possible product launches, represents the brand in trade shows, negotiates contract terms, collects royalties, and more.

“At Moonbug, we’re committed to developing premium, enriching content that parents and children can enjoy together, and a key part of this mission is ensuring our IP is accessible globally,” Simon Philips, a former Marvel exec who serves as Moonbug’s senior in-house advisor, said in a statement. “Redibra’s award-winning work and thoughtful approach to brand management makes it the right partner for us to help Brazilian kids build deeper connections with our beloved characters.”

Moonbug already counts a substantial following in Brazil, where its content is distributed on both Netflix and YouTube. The company began making it music videos available in Portuguese in October. Redibra serves as a licensing agent for other bold-faced brands, including Coca-Cola, Nintendo, Chevrolet, and Care Bears.

Moonbug first entered merch with its Little Baby Bum property in Oct. 2019 via a line of toys and games at Walmart and Amazon. CoComelon first announced that it was pushing into merch in the U.S. last February with albums of its most popular songs and a line of toys produced by Jazwares, which bowed in September.
