Emma Chamberlain Goes Lo-Fi With Latest Business Venture: Her Own Paper Planner

Emma Chamberlain is going decidedly lo-fi with her latest business venture — which is also bound to help fans get their lives organized in quarantine.

Chamberlain is launching a physical planner called The Ideal Planner, dropping on Aug. 18. The hard cover, 240-page book — which is priced at $30 and currently available for preorder

— joins other business ventures that the 19-year-old has launched to date, including coffee company Chamberlain Coffee, a merch operation, and a podcast dubbed Anything Goes.

Chamberlain says she’s been using paper planners since 5th grade, but has yet to find one that fits her ideal — until now. She adds she chose to remove dates from her iteration in order to alleviate pressure, and also opted include space for fun activities to encourage users to disconnect and relax, including horoscope info, space to doodle self-portraits, and take pop quizzes.

“So much of the stuff we do is digital now, which is great, but I think it’s so nice to turn it off for a bit,” Chamberlain tells Bustle of The Ideal Planner. “When it comes to being organized, my phone is a huge distraction. Writing things down in a paper planner not only forces you to put down your phone, but it also sticks in your brain better because you have a tangible list of your daily tasks.”

The Ideal Planner is being published by Gallery Books, a division of Simon & Schuster. To promote the launch, Chamberlain starred in a Day In A Life YouTube video for Cosmopolitan’s channel, which you can check out right here.
