Bill Nye, Casey Neistat, iJustine Among Guests For Marques Brownlee’s YouTube Original ‘Retro Tech’

The trailer for Marques Brownlee’s nostalgic YouTube original series Retro Tech is here, along with a reveal of the show’s impressive roster of guest stars.

Set to premiere Dec. 2, Retro Tech will feature Brownlee (who has 9.81M subscribers) unboxing and reviewing iconic tech from times’ past — including the WalkmanSEGA Genesis gaming console, and JVC Camcorder. Brownlee, who’s 25, has never used many of the products he’ll feature, so he’s bringing in experts to give him a rundown of each product’s history and why it made such an impression on the world.

Guests include: the one and only science guy Bill Nye, entrepreneur and supermodel Karlie Kloss, comedian Hannibal Buress, The Daily Show correspondent and comedian Roy Wood Jr., computer scientist Michael Fischer, YouTubers Casey Neistat and iJustine, actor Jake Baldino, core Smosh member Atomic Mari, tech reviewer Judner Aura, musical quartet The Gregory Brothers, YouTuber Sara Dietschy, and Canadian photographer and YouTuber Peter McKinnon.

The series will be free to watch on Brownlee’s channel. If you’re not a YouTube Premium member, you’ll have to wait for episodes to be released each Monday, beginning Dec. 2. If you are

Retro Tech is one of a handful of education-focused originals YouTube is producing. Also part of the slate are Glad You Asked, where Vox journalists answer the internet’s burning questions; Age of AI with Marvel’s AI wizard, Robert Downey Jr.Could You Survive the Movies?, where Jake Roper breaks down the real-life odds of making it through the grit, grime, and sheer violence of films like Mad Max: Fury Road; and BookTube, a once-per-month book club-esque series featuring bestselling authors talking about their newest release.

BookTube and Could You Survive the Movies? premiered last month. You can watch their first episodes here and here. Age of AI doesn’t yet have a premiere date. Glad You Asked will begin airing Jan. 8.
