Il Makiage, a recently-relaunched direct-to-consumer beauty brand that is making influencers a key part of its vision, has announced a collaboration with YouTube star Carli Bybel, who counts 6.2 million subscribers.
Bybel, 28, is teaming with Il Makiage on a galaxy-themed line of lip products, per People, including three ultra-matte lipsticks, three waterproof lip liners, and three high-shine glosses. The products will be available in universal nude, pink, and red hues, and will launch on Aug. 8 — sold separately or in bundles, with prices ranging from $15 to $39.
“I would probably say I have like 600 lipsticks, which is insane,” Bybel told People. “I’ve been wanting to do this for so long. I knew my vision would come to life with Il Makiage. People launch lipsticks all the time. I wanted to do something different.”
This isn’t Bybel’s first brand collab. In 2015, she teamed up with BH Cosmetics on an eyeshadow palette. The items will launch at 10 am on Il Makiage’s all-new website, which seeks to reimagine the online shopping experience for beauty products — a tough order given that many consumers want to see product textures and shades before they buy them. The site features a new try-before-you-buy option, a foundation-matching quiz, and tutorials by micro influencers so that shoppers can see how products perform. (Influencers receive up to a 25% cut of any sales clocked from their tutorials).
Bybel will unveil the products on her social channels — as well as a dedicated webpage — in coming days.
