Emily Hartridge, a U.K. YouTuber and aspiring presenter, died on Friday after a fatal e-scooter collision. She was 35.
Hartridge counted 351,000 YouTube subscribers and 63,000 Instagram followers at the time of her death. A post on her Instagram account confirmed the tragic news to fans, reading, “We know many of you were expecting to see Emily today and this is the only way to contact you all at once…Emily was involved in an accident yesterday and passed away. We all loved her to bits, and she will never be forgotten. She has touched so many lives; it’s hard to imagine things without her. She was a very special person.”
Hartrdige collided with a truck and was pronounced dead at the scene in what is the first fatal crash involving an e-scooter in Britain, reports People.
Hartridge launched her YouTube channel roughly seven years ago, and is perhaps best known for publishing Top 10 listicle videos, including, most recently, 10 Reasons To Get A Younger Boyfriend and Top 10 Dating Mistakes. She was also a burgeoning television host, per People, and headlined a local series titled Oh Sh*t I’m 30.
“We’re deeply saddened to learn about the tragic loss of a truly talented British creator, Emily Hartridge,” the YTCreators Twitter account shared over the weekend. “Our thoughts and condolences go out to all of her loved ones and fans.”
