Taylor Swift To Headline Amazon’s Prime Day Concert Livestream

This year, Amazon’s going all out for Prime Day.

Its annual discount wonderland, where members of Amazon Prime ($119 per year or $13 per month) can score steep deals on everything from Kindles to catnip toys, has for the first time been extended to cover two full days — July 15 and 16. And Amazon plans to promote the event by hosting a Prime Day livestream concert, headlined by Taylor Swift and featuring chart-toppers Dua Lipa, SZA, and Becky G.

The livestream will air on Prime Video July 10 at 9 p.m. EST, available only to Amazon Prime’s 101 million subscribers. Swift’s performance will include her new singles “You Need to Calm Down” and “Me!,” with Dua Lipa, SZA, and Becky G apparently set to play some of their top tracks as well.

During the stream, Amazon will advertise its upcoming original projects, playing clips from Orlando Bloom

and Cara Delevigne’s Carnival Row, superhero drama The Boys, animated series Undone (from the creators of Netflix’s adult animated hit BoJack Horseman), new stand-up comedy specials, and the next seasons of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Ahead of the event, Amazon has debuted a new Alexa feature that lets users ask its AI assistant to play “the Prime Day concert playlist,” a lineup featuring Swift and her costars’ latest and greatest hits.

“We can’t wait to celebrate Prime Day with an extraordinary night of unforgettable performances, for members around the globe,” Steve Boom, vice president of Amazon Music, said in a statement. “Prime Day brings members the best of both entertainment and shopping. To celebrate, we’ve curated a lineup across multiple genres with performances from artists our customers love.”

The two-day Prime Day kicks off July 15 at midnight PST.
