Police Investigating Alleged Drugging Of Guest At Jake Paul-Hosted House Party

Police are investigating a claim that one partygoer may have been drugged over the weekend at a massive gathering hosted by controversial YouTube star Jake Paul.

The druggings were first alleged by a mother of one of the party’s attendees in a private Facebook group for the ‘Moms Of Conejo Valley’. The mother wrote in a post that her daughter, who is reportedly in her early 20s, “ended up in the hospital with eight other girls who had been drugged and ended up at West Hills hospital incoherent,” People reports. “Something was put in their drinks. The girls were all half naked and were unable to walk or talk. They were made to sign a disclaimer at the door. I’m sharing this in hopes that you will talk to your teens and young adults. I’m sharing this in hopes to help someone. I will be reporting this to the authorities.”

Subsequently, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed “a possible single occurrence of unwillful impairment related to a party attended on May 4,” per People — though the statement made no mention of Paul. “Detectives are in the beginning stages of information gathering for the incident.”

The Daily Mail also reports that the Los Angeles County Fire Department’s Station 68 posted on Instagram that it had spent the majority of Saturday evening transporting multiple patients from Paul’s party to get medical assistance, though that post has now been deleted.

While Paul himself has not been accused of any wrongdoing, his attorney Larry Stein told TMZ in a statement, “We take this claim very seriously, and are working with authorities to make absolutely sure we do our part to uncover the truth.”

The party — which served to fete the 22nd birthday of the rapper Desiigner, complete with live boxing matches, motorcycle stunts, and appearances by Cameron Dallas, Chris Brown, Lamar Odom, and Bella Thorne — is far from the first time that Paul has been beset by controversy. Most recently, for instance, YouTube age-restricted and demonetized Paul’s ‘Bird Box challenge’ video, for fear that the clip — in which Paul attempted to walk through traffic and drive while blindfolded — would inspire others to try the same.
