Two veterans from the world of digital entertainment have teamed up to launch their own talent management startup, dubbed UNCMMN.
The firm is the brainchild of Stephanie Piza, a former talent manager at Flip Management (which merged with Select Management in August) and Carla Vionette Santiago, who formerly oversaw digital partnerships at marketing agency United Entertainment Group, where she worked with Toyota, Doritos, and SC Johnson, and more. UNCMMN is being funded by Charles D. King’s Macro, reports The Hollywood Reporter, a media brand targeting people of color — though the financial terms were not disclosed.
UNCMMN will focus on representing a diverse roster, it says, and will comprise two main divisions. Piza will run the talent team, while Santiago will oversee partnerships, including film and TV opportunities, as well as live event experiences for brands and agencies. The firm also counts two other employees at launch: Desiree Ansari, who previously worked at Blended Strategy Group
, will serve as a talent coordinator, while WME alum Britton Hardin has been named partnerships manager.Piza, who began her career at CAA and Big Frame, already reps a handful of top digital creators, including Jay Versace, Joanne The Scammer, and Jc Caylen (pictured above). At UNCMMN, she will continue to secure endorsement, licensing, and consumer product deals, as well as appearances and TV and film roles for her clients.
“In a diverse and fragmented world, where audiences skip ads and second screen while streaming, it’s not enough for brands to get ‘views’ — they have to capture attention,” Santiago said in a statement. “At UNCMMN we take a data-driven, audience-first approach to partnerships…Understanding that diverse and inclusive voices provide authentic, engaging and relevant content, we have focused our efforts on building holistic content.”
