YouTuber, singer, and songwriter Poppy, who rose to internet fame thanks to wonderfully weird videos like I’m Poppy, has signed with Abrams Artists Agency, and will be represented by its alternative programming, digital media, licensing, and branding division.
Poppy, whose real name is Moriah Rose Pereira, has nearly 400 million views on YouTube. She catapulted that success into a music career that has so far seen her release one extended play (Bubblebath with Island Records in 2016) and two full studio albums with the recordMad Decent. Her latest album, Am I a Girl?, released Oct. 31, and she’ll be touring with it early next year.
Her musical journey got her named Best Breakthrough Artist at the 2017 Streamys (which is produced by Dick Clark Productions
and Tubefilter) and helped her amass a sizeable social media following across multiple platforms, including 788,000 followers on Instagram, 188,000 followers on Twitter, and 306,000 fans on Facebook.Poppy has also been extending her performance skills outside of music. This year, she teamed up with YouTube Premium to release the scripted series, I’m Poppy, in which she plays a girl who — in accordance with Poppy’s trademark wacky surrealism — makes a deal with the devil and garners unwanted attention from a bunch of wild-eyed cultists.
In addition to her representation at Abrams, Poppy is managed by Nick Groff at Geffen Records, and is signed at Paradigm for her music touring and literary pursuits.
