Condé Nast Entertainment Names Vox Vet Patrick Bulger Executive Director Of Its Digital Video Division (Exclusive)

Condé Nast Entertainment (CNE) is onboarding a new executive to the team behind its booming digital video development division. Patrick Bulger, previously head of editorial video at Vox Media, is now CNE’s executive director of creative programming, planning, and project management.

Bulger will report to Joe Sabia, CNE’s head of digital development. Sabia’s team is responsible for numerous successful series, including Vogue’s 73 Questions (which counts a collective 572 million lifetime views), Bon Appétit‘s Kids Try (138 million views), and Wired’s Autocomplete Interview (382 million views).  This year, the team has doubled the’ YouTube subscriber base of CNE’s brands. All told, the publisher’s brand channels have gone from 10.5 million subscribers to more than 20 million.

In his new position, Bulger will oversee video development projects, working with CNE’s strategy, programming, and production teams to develop operational strategies.

“Patrick for years has proven to be amazingly skilled at content, strategy, and building audiences on a variety of platforms,” Sabia says. “He is an important addition to our development efforts as we scale our growing team. He’ll be instrumental in ensuring the exponential video growth for Condé Nast across all brands, and I couldn’t be more excited.”

At Vox Media, Bulger managed video programming, strategy, creative direction, and video operations for its core brands, including Vox, The Verge, Eater, and Racked.
