Hank Green is hitting the road to promote his debut novel, An Absolutely Remarkable Thing, which arrives on shelves Sept. 25.
Green will trek to 12 cities this fall, beginning on Sept. 25 in New York City and concluding on Oct. 6 in Bellingham, Wash. At each stop, he will be joined by a special guest (most of the time it will be his brother, John Green — an acclaimed author in his own right who co-hosts the vlogbrothers YouTube channel with Hank) to discuss the book. Green will also perform live music and answer audience questions. At his Milwaukee stop, he will be joined by rapper Dessa, with other special guests to be announced soon.
Green notes that he won’t be doing any public signings for An Absolutely Remarkable Thing, but will host meet-and-greets with the first 100 ticket buyers in each city. Tickets start at roughly $30, but vary from venue to venue.
An Absolutely Remarkable Thing, which is currently available for preorder, tells the story of a woman named April May who becomes an overnight celebrity, according to its jacket description, before realizing she’s part of something bigger and stranger than anyone could have possibly imagined. The novel will deal with themes of internet fame, fear and uncertainty, and vilification and adoration of those in the public eye.
